Calling all Type 1 families! One of our most popular family events is back for 2027!

 

Join Diabetes Youth Services for an unforgettable weekend at Kalahari Resort filled with water slides, adventure, family fun, and plenty of opportunities to connect with other Type 1 families. Families will enjoy a special discounted group rate, access to a private Whirlpool Cabana with snacks, and a weekend full of fun for the whole family.

 

NEW THIS YEAR: DYS Family Meet & Greet

We’re excited to host a private DYS Family Meet & Greet on Friday evening from 6:30–7:30 PM. This will be a casual opportunity for families to meet one another, make connections, and kick off the weekend together.

Additional details about the weekend and Meet & Greet will be sent to registered families a couple of weeks before the event.

TWO STEPS ARE REQUIRED TO RECEIVE THE DYS GROUP DISCOUNT

To receive the discounted overnight room rate through DYS, you must complete BOTH steps:

1. Reserve your overnight room directly with Kalahari.

2. Register with Diabetes Youth Services.
You will need your Kalahari confirmation number to complete the DYS registration.

If you do not complete both steps, you are not considered fully registered for the DYS event.

Important Information About the DYS Group Discount

The DYS discount applies only to overnight room reservations. Day passes are available directly through Kalahari at the regular rate.

 

Room Options & Group Rates

The standard Run of House room accommodates up to 4 people and includes 4 waterpark passes.

DYS Group Rate for Run of House Rooms:

• Thursday arrivals: $184 per night
• Friday or Saturday arrivals: $194 per night

Who Can Use the DYS Group Rate?

As a small nonprofit, we work hard to make our programs as accessible as possible for families living with Type 1 diabetes. Because we have a limited number of rooms available in our group block, the discounted DYS room rate is reserved exclusively for families who have a child or family member living with Type 1 diabetes.

 

Please register only members of your immediate family who will be attending. Friends, neighbors, extended family members, and other guests who are not part of a T1D family are welcome to attend Kalahari separately. However, they should make their own reservations directly through Kalahari at the regular rate rather than registering as part of the DYS group. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep our limited group rooms available for the families this program is intended to support.

Need a Room After the Registration Deadline?

The registration deadline is January 4th, 2027.  If you would like to reserve a room after the DYS room-block deadline, please contact Kalahari Group Sales directly at 419-433-7759 to ask about availability.
