Camp Financial Support

We Know Camp can be Expensive

DID YOU KNOW? In 2023 DYS Hot Shots Camp was nationally recognized for our efforts to market and include low income campers by New Venture Fund. We are so proud to hold this achievement and are excited to maintain our promise of never turning a family from camp for financial reasons.

DYS is dedicated to providing opportunities for every family to send their child to Hot Shot Camp. We offer several ways to help you make camp fees less of a burden:

Payment Plans

We now offer several payment options. If you are interested in one of these payment plans, simply contact the office and we will set it up for you:

  • 4 Month Plan – pay 1/4 of your fees once a month for 4 months
  • 3 Month Plan – pay 1/3 of your fees once a month for 3 months
  • 50/50 – pay 50% down and 50% before camp begins

Family Sponsors

Scholarships

All campers with primary health coverage through Medicaid OR Paramount Insurance are automatically enrolled to receive a full camp scholarship.

Full and partial scholarships are available to families who qualify. When registering, remember to complete the scholarship form if you would like to be considered for a scholarship, located with the registration forms on Campwise- the software we use to register campers. Proof of income and a copy of the camper's insurance card are required to receive a scholarship. When you register your camper, look for the '2023 Camper Scholarship Application' under the Forms section in Campwise.

All submissions must be received by the scholarship deadline. Scholarships are contingent on participation at camp. If camper does not attend or is absent, parents and/or guardians will be responsible for paying back up to $50 of scholarship amount rewarded. Exceptions can be made with prior authorization from the Camp Director with at least 24 hours' notice from first day of camp.

Camp Cares Scholarship

There is a scholarship opportunity for all campers designed to help families lift the burden of additional camp fees in 2023. To be eligible for this scholarship, resident campers must submit a 1-page document explaining the following:

  • Why you are excited to attend Hot Shots Camp
  • What you have learned from camp in past sessions
  • What you hope to learn at Hot Shots Camp 2023
  • We ask Little Shots Day Campers draw a picture telling us what camp means to them.

All submissions must be received by the scholarship deadline. Scholarships are contingent on participation at camp. If camper does not attend or is absent, parents and/or guardians will be responsible for paying back the scholarship amount awarded. Exceptions can be made with prior authorization from the Camp Director with at least 24 hours’ notice from first day of camp.
