Leadership Retreat

Young adults ages 16 though college will learn skills and techniques that will prepare them for mentoring campers as counselors and serve as future leaders in our community.

Big Shots

Campers entering grades 7-12 will make friends that they will cherish for a lifetime. There is something for everyone from canoeing, crafts, swimming, talent show, and archery.

Middle Shots

Campers entering grades 4 through 7 have an opportunity to experience resident camp in fun camp activities. They meet kids and staff that also face challenges of diabetes.

Little Shots

Introductory experience for children entering kindergarten through grade 4. These young campers will have a fun-filled week playing and learning a little about diabetes.

Why Hot Shot Camp?

Camp is all about firsts!  We take every opportunity to encourage the kids to try new ways to manage their diabetes. Not just with diabetes, campers experience a wide variety of fun firsts –  staying away from home, climbing an tree, or fishing.  They will have a blast enjoying all the fun activities camp has to offer and learn strategies for managing diabetes.

DYS has a long history of campers making friends to whom they can relate. Every child with diabetes has felt alone at some point, but camp is a unique place where they know that they are never alone.

At Hot Shots Camp your child will learn skills, form friendships, and make memories they will cherish for a lifetime!
