Hot Shots Camp

Designed for ages 5-17

Since 1984, Hot Shots Camp has been our signature program. Designed with the T1D camper in mind, Hot Shots Camp is one of the only places where nearly everyone else around them is living with Type 1. We have 4 camp sessions available with activities like swimming, archery, crafts, sports, and hands on diabetes education campers will use the rest of their life.

Upcoming Family Programs

Diabetes Youth Services (DYS) collaborates with the community to provide a variety of programs for the whole family! Meet other families living with T1D at Kalahari Waterpark, Mudhens Baseball games, ice skating, you name it!

Recent DYS Programs and Events

Big thanks to the Oakleaf Family for donating proceeds of the Ron Oakleaf Memorial Horse Pull to Diabetes Youth Services! Nearly $4,500 was raised to support DYS Camps and Programs.

Thank you to everyone who made it out to our Mudhens Baseball Game event! Over 160 people came out to enjoy the game and mingle with other T1D families.

Family Connect is a program intended to provide newly diagnosed families living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) support from a seasoned DYS family who lives in their Zip code/neighborhood.

Even after camp, the fun doesn’t stop! We offer programs specifically for high school and college age students throughout the year to offer support when they need it the most.

In order to better serve our families in and surrounding counties, we have started a small chapter in Findlay, Ohio. Stay tuned for event updates below.

In order to better serve our families in the northern portions of our service area, we have established a chapter in Michigan. Stay tuned for event updates below.
