The start of a new school year is always a good time for a fresh start. Get ready to take your diabetes back to school with DYS! Schools and parents are invited to discuss getting ready for the 2017-18 school year with DYS and experts on working with diabetes and school.
Parents: Review your 504 plans, get your questions answered, learn strategies for parent-school communication to make sure that your child stays safe, healthy and in peak learning condition.
Schools: Get information about what you need to do to train the teachers who will have kids with diabetes in class, schedule a training session, learn how to make sure all your T1D kids are safe and learning.
We all want the same things — healthy, thriving children. Spend a couple hours with us and learn how you can make sure that all of the kids who manage diabetes are safe and healthy.
Our panel includes experts from Bright Horizons Advocacy and Consulting, EDCC, our own Nurse Educator and a parent who has “been there, done that.”
We will have babysitters and activities in a separate room for the kids, so you can have the opportunity to get your questions answered without interruptions or little ears around.
Mark your calendars for August 3, 2017, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Admission is FREE, but registration is requested for planning purposes.
Onsite Directions: If you are facing the hospital, please enter the building and park on the far left side of the campus. Enter through the green covered sidewalk to the Community Center.
