Camp Description

DYS Resident Camp is the only camp of its kind in Northwest Ohio to offer a week-long outdoor adventure for pre-teen and teenage youth with diabetes.

Parents site a dramatic improvement in attitude, carb counting and appropriate insulin coverage. Kids also show an increase in willingness to try new technologies and treatments like the insulin pump.

Camp helps kids learn to manage their diabetes independently while being supervised by Certified Diabetes Educators. They also spend all week with counselors and other kids who have experienced life with diabetes.
